contaflexactiv ACR, AC, ACF
CONTEC® contaflexactiv metal waterstop with active bentonite coating, which are used to ensure full watertightness of construction joint in reinforced concrete structures. Bentonite tape covered with self-soluble organic foil, which protects bentonite from early swelling.
Typical Applications:
Construction joints in basements, retaining walls, foundations, tunnels, parking and water tanks.
Suitable for both vertical and horizontal joints exposed to permanent or temporary water pressure.
The Benefits:
Metal waterstop with active bentonite coating
Working interval tightness up to 0.5 MPa with constant pressure and also with variable pressure
Active bentonite has been tested for continuous tightness of the working break even after a drying period
Active bentonite coating is protected by a biodegradable film against premature swelling
Fast installation
Low transport costs
Easy connecting consecutive elements
Elimination of complicated junctions

CONTEC® contaflexactiv seals construction joints between reinforced concrete elements.
Variants:
ACR - metal waterstop in roll
AC - metal waterstop without foot
ACF - metal waterstop with foot
CFS - butt joint profile for precast walls
CFE - angle joint profile for precast walls
Storage and Handling
Store in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C.
Protect from direct sunlight and moisture before installation.
Handle with care to avoid damaging the active coating.

Correct installation is essential to ensure full waterproofing performance. See step-by-step installation of contaflexACTIV® ACF.
STEP 1
Placement and Fixing - The strip must be fixed centrally on the joint using dedicated clips before concreting the second pour. - The active coating must face the water side of the structure or groundwater. - Ensure continuous alignment of the strip with at least 100 mm overlap at joints. - Joints between strips must be connected without gaps; ensure full contact between overlapping sections.
STEP 2
Concrete Cover and Position - The strip should be embedded with a minimum concrete cover of 40 mm on each side. In Germany it can be minimum concrete cover of 30 mm. - Avoid positioning too close to the reinforcement to prevent displacement during concreting. - Do not allow the strip to be exposed after casting — it must be fully surrounded by concrete.
STEP 3
Concreting - Ensure proper compaction of concrete around the strip using vibration. - Prevent direct contact between the strip and shuttering boards. - Do not install in standing water or when surface is contaminated by dust, oil, or form-release agents.
