Eurocode 2 Joint System for High‑Load Concrete Connections
Fast, highest bearing capacity for reinforced concrete connections – with active sealing available. Engineered system integrity – not assembled on site.
RECOSTAL® Starter Packs provide EC2‑compliant shear‑transfer geometry and predictable load paths for staged concrete pours — eliminating site improvisation and ensuring that joint behaviour matches design assumptions. For engineers this means consistent detailing, reliable anchorage lengths and full compatibility with BIM workflows.
If your project requires watertight or on‑ground joint solutions, the RECOSTAL® RSH activ variant delivers a complete 2‑in‑1 system: reinforcement and sealing installed in one step. No more cutting rebar to fit sealing tape. The unit comes with factory‑integrated bentonite on both sides, protected by a self‑soluble foil to prevent early swelling — ideal for ramps, base slabs and constrained working areas.

- One system for multiple joint types: slabs, walls, ramps, foundations.
Predictable performance without on-site improvisation
RECOSTAL® Starter Packs provide standardized geometry, predefined anchorage lengths and system-tested behaviour. This removes uncertainty caused by inconsistent workmanship. Structural designers can rely on predictable load transfer across construction joints, reducing design risk and eliminating the need to compensate for uncontrolled on-site variations.
A solution that fits Eurocode‑based design practice
The trapezoidal profile ensures high interface shear capacity in compliance with Eurocode 2. Designers do not need to create custom details or run additional verifications beyond standard EC2 requirements. This accelerates design workflows and aligns seamlessly with typical European (including Swedish) detailing approaches.
Factory-installed active sealing for error-free detailing
With RECOSTAL® RSH activ, the sealing is pre-installed at the factory, guaranteeing the correct position every time. This eliminates the most common source of errors in watertight joints—improper field installation or misalignment. For designers responsible for waterproofing details, this drastically increases reliability, especially in ground slabs, ramps and areas with limited access.
By combining continuity reinforcement and sealing into a single system, RECOSTAL® Starter Packs reduce the number of steps required on jobsite. This leads to more consistent execution and fewer deviations from the design intent. For engineering teams, this translates into fewer RFIs, fewer detail clarifications and much lower risk of incompatible site modifications.
One system for slabs, walls, ramps and foundations
Designers can use the same reinforcement continuity concept across a wide range of joint types, eliminating the need to prepare multiple detail variations. This reduces coordination time, simplifies BIM modelling and ensures consistent documentation throughout the project. A unified system also minimizes the risk of mismatched products during execution.
Tested solutions replace site‑assembled workarounds
RECOSTAL® Starter Packs deliver pre-bent bars, factory-set dimensions and robust galvanized casings. Unlike improvised site assemblies, the system’s performance is validated as a complete unit. This gives engineers confidence that joint behaviour matches design assumptions, reduces liability exposure and improves overall structural safety.

RECOSTAL RSH – For Transverse Joint Loads (Key Profiled)

RECOSTAL® RSH: the primary system for joints subject to transverse shear
It uses a trapezoidally profiled steel casing, meeting the highest EC2 shear transfer category and the requirements of the DBV Bulletin “Rebending… according to Eurocode 2”. RECOSTAL® RSH offers a wide range of standard dimensions, with bar diameters from 8–16 mm and several casing heights and bar widths. Fixed lengths up to 2.20 m and non‑standard geometries are available on request.
The system uses reinforcement grades B500B, B500C and B550B and incorporates defined bending radii to ensure safe rebending performance. RECOSTAL® RSH provides a predictable shear‑transfer mechanism, especially in wall–slab connections where the highest bearing capacities are required.
RECOSTAL® RSH is available in various diameters (8–16 mm), and configurations. We offer robust solutions with proven performance. For water-exposed joints, we offer active waterproofing options with bentonite coating as RECOSTAL® RSH activ.
RECOSTAL RSV – For Longitudinal Joint Loads (Key Profiled)

RECOSTAL® RSV: engineered for longitudinal shear transfer along construction joints
With the same key‑profiled casing concept as RSH, RSV integrates reinforcement arranged for optimal longitudinal shear capacity. The system complies with EC2 §6.2.5, including combined contributions from concrete, friction and reinforcement as defined for profiled joints. Detailed tables in the technical documentation provide design capacities for different concrete classes and reinforcement layouts.
RSV is commonly used in slab‑to‑slab and slab‑to‑wall joints where longitudinal shear governs and a reliable, repeatable geometry is essential.
RECOSTAL® Starter Packs are available in various types (RSH, RSV, VHQ), diameters (8–16 mm), and configurations. Whether you require transverse or longitudinal stress resistance, we offer robust solutions with proven performance. For water-exposed joints, we offer active waterproofing options with bentonite coating.
RECOSTAL RSH activ – Reinforcement and Sealing in One

RECOSTAL® RSV: engineered for designers who need both maximum shear capacity and integrated waterproofing in joint solutions
RECOSTAL® RSH activ is the standout innovation within the RECOSTAL® Starter Packs family. It combines a full key‑profiled RECOSTAL® RSH with factory‑installed bentonite‑based active waterproofing on both sides of the casing. This eliminates the need for separate sealing tapes or on‑site installation steps. The sealing is always positioned correctly and anchored to the steel casing from the factory, reducing coordination errors and installation time—particularly in applications with difficult access such as ground slabs, basements and ramps.
Key Advantages of RECOSTAL® RSH activ:
No separate sealing installation – active sealing is factory‑integrated.
Fewer errors – sealing is always in the correct position.
Faster progress – reinforcement and sealing installed in a single operation.
Lower labour cost – fewer steps and fewer corrections.
Reliable performance – system‑tested, not assembled from multiple on‑site components.
Ideal for poor logistics – highly useful in cramped construction areas.
No cutting of reinforcement to install sealing tapes.
RECOSTAL RSH Specials – Tailor‑Made Starter Packs for Complex Geometry

RECOSTAL® RSH Specials: the most flexible part of the range
These units are fully made to specification, enabling precise adaptation to complex joint geometries, unusual reinforcement layouts or project‑specific requirements. The available shapes include multiple special variants such as RECOSTAL®: RSH SKG‑v, RSH S2G‑v, RSH SKB, RSH SWQ, RSH SKR, and many more dedicated configurations.
This level of customisation makes RECOSTAL® RSH Specials a strong differentiator in comparison with conventional continuity reinforcement systems, particularly where standard starter packs reach their geometric limits. It also eliminates the need for site improvisation, ensuring consistency with design assumptions and EC2‑compliant load transfer.
